The band traveled to Midwest, a prestigious band director's conference held in Chicago each year. The audition process is quite strict. Only two community bands were chosen to perform, the Woodlands Concert Band and our friends the Carrollton Wind Ensemble.

The band performed to a standing room only crowd that included a number of the composers. The concert included the premier performance of Cosmic Expedition by Michael J. Miller. The concert also featured a transcription of the Rondo from Carl Maria von Weber's Grand Duo Concertante. This piece was arranged by band member Keith McDaniel and featured a special guest soloist, clarinettist Tyler Worosello.

The concert was conducted by Paul Worosello, with guest conductors Richard Crain and Gary Garner, and Associate Director Bill Stutsman.
