Charlie Mayes

Associate Director, 2014-2015

Charlie Mayes has been playing trombine with the Woodlands Concert Band for two years. Charlie grew up in Midland, Texas, graduating from Midland High School. He received his Bachelor and Master's degrees from the University of North Texsa. He has taught in the school districts of Alvin, Alief, Lubbock, and Beaumont. Charlie is in his second year of retirement after 38 years as a band director. He is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association. Charlie has two grown sons, Scott in Flower Mound, Texas and Jeff in Bellair,e Texas.
